hello
have MG ZT-T with V8 fitted
tonight got home in car left it to idle for a few mins as normal and could hear a funny noise, depressed the clutchand the noise went away.
anyone else got a noisy clutch ?
i am guessing its the release bearing ??
any clues or assistance appreciated.

sounds like it, Is your gearbox/bellhousing insualtion intact ? this deadens those sort of noises.
dont get too paranoid about it unless it gets really noticeable

i have no insulation as i pulled it off, and don't hear any sounds coming from mine, so i would investigate a little bit for peace of mind.

Try taking up the freeplay on the clutch pedal with your foot, does the noise change pitch?

yes the noise changes, almost goes away

Ok, if the noise goes with just a little pressure it'll probably be a clutch release bearing going a bit, if it didn't change pitch at all it may have been a bearing in the box!!

cheers, confirmed my thought about the cluth release bearing, due a big service soon so will get it done then.
