Auto Gearbox 416 SLi to 25 ?

Hi not a 75 question but still rover. One Rover 416SLi 1.6auto & One Rover 25 1.6auto. The question is are the gearboxes interchangeable even tho the 25 has a different type ?

On the 400 (assuming we are talking about the hatchback after 1996), the only time the Honda engine was used was in the automatic version. The 1.6 in the 25 will be a K series.

All the rest of the engines were K or L series.

Yeah the 400 is the Honda unit but not sure wots in the 25.They're both 1.6 auto's but the 25's gearbox is kaput so wondered if the one from the 416 would work in it, or maybe an entire transplant (416 is my mothers & 25 is for sale)

Eh? OP is talking 1.6 petrol, nobody mentioned diesel :confused:
Honda D series engine is fitted back to front, so no, not much use to replace the R3's box ;)
