Whats going on?
My pass door has been stiff opening for a while, went to open it today and it won't open at all but does from the inside. Whats broke chaps?
Also I'm getting really tee'd off with my Z. It seems to want a kick up the *** lately. My mpg has gone down to 29.7 from 32 and seems very sluggish. Picks up a bit at 3500 revs. Thought my exhaust was blowing before Xmas but fella at exhaust place says 'exhausts on these are long lasters'.
Clutch slipped like crazy a few weeks ago too. Other half says my engine sounds rattly on tickover when cold so has my inlet ******ed? :panic:

Sounds like one or both of your VIS motors are in need of some attention, or possibly even the inlet manifold.
Can't help with the door.

Not again.
I replaced the Vis motors last year and have only done about 5k since. Must be the inlet then, poo!

The rear door locks jam an "improved" lock was fitted to later cars with "over throw stops" and is available but an afternoon with the door cards off and some improvisation works just as well.

Many people blast WD40 down the exterior handle in the hope some finds the right spot at the bell crank, long term this is not a good option as the WD40 goes everywhere and eventually dust and grime will stick to those parts making the problem worse!

As for your vis motors 5K would beat the current 17k forum record so not impossible. Only suspect the manifold if it is clearly rattling

5 minutes on T4 will tell you if either motor has failed

Thanks Keith.
I've found a chap who specialises in MG and Rover and only a few miles away so I'll ask him to put it on T4.
He also does V6 belt changes for about £350 if anyones interested in the Staffs/ Cheshire border area.
