Clutch switch and cruise

In the time I have owned my car the cruise has never worked. The PO had recently had the clutch changed. Attempted to check that the clutch switch was positioned correctly. I assume that it is a white object high up behind the dashboard. I hoped I would see it when I took the IPK out to fit the Trafficmaster, but no.

How the hell do you get at it - any help much appreciated.

clutch and brake switches are just at the top of the pedal pivots. imagine a square polo with a square section bit pushed through it... you need to make sure the middle bit is as close to the back of the pedals when they are not being pushed.
search on "hall switch" on google and you might find a photo....
