For the fourth year we will meet at the Old Blacksmith's Shop in Gretna Green. The owners are happy to welcome us and have said we can again use the grassed caravan parking area to the back of the car park.

They have said this area will be roped off for our use and entry will be through double gates which will be opened for us to gain access.

This was where we were able to set up a gazebo last year which was ideal for shelter.

So anyone wishing to attend please post on this thread and the list will be kept updated. I will manage along too and I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Yep Derek, you are. I checked it last night and it expires on 20th July.:(

I know it would have failed on the exhaust, "Christmas tree lights" dashboard and front discs / pads, all of which I've done. However, I have a nagging doubt about the front ball joints. I will do my best to get her to Gretna.

Totally agree, and very much looking forward to tomorrow, car is cleaned (I think) and packed, just doing some last bits and pieces to do, charging camera and phone, so that I can take some picture of the magnificent cars which will be there

A great day , weather was fantastic and some beautifully turned out cars , the Tam Leek memorial Trophy was voted on by all the attending members and was won (very fittingly ) by Tim Burgess in his ex Tam Leek 2.5 V6 in Dorchester Red, the Trophy was presented by Tam's Daughter Sophie. , good to meet up with some old faces and to find some new ones , thanks to all who organised and made the effort to attend :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Firstly congrats to TIM for winning the very first Best Turned Out Car award .

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, both the drive there, the meet, and the drive back through some excellent country roads, again, just after Allen heads, a Big V8 caught up with me and Ronnie (but was stuck behind some little type of Van, and turned off about 10 miles later.

I would like to also thank those that George thanked, for making the day so special. Well done to Tim on winning the very special award, I think that it was very fitting.

I took the ZT along today, and had a thoroughly enjoyable day. It was a good opportunity to catch up with some old faces, and meet quite a few new ones. The calibre of the cars was very high indeed, and I think that everyone found it tricky to choose their favourites. Very well done to the prize-winners! It was great to see so many people at the event.
A huge thanks to Derek for organising such a superb event, and I just hope that I can do something half as good for next year! I'd also like to say thanks to Derek for the walnut dash he's given me, and to Tim, who gave me an OEM Kenwood head-unit to fit to my ZT.
Fantastic weather, and a great day all round.

Not long home after my 320 mile round trip.glenboig to gretna to rockcliffe to haltwhistle andthen back to glenboig.first big meet for me apart from moffat.really enjoyed.especialy when I sent my 2 kids for ice lollys and got 2 pound change from a £10 (not).all cars looked great.

Sorry I couldn't be with you guys and a big thanks for all those brilliant photos. Almost just like being there.

Just for your info I am taking a back seat with shows these days after cutting back on the expenses a bit to allow me and the family to enjoy our caravan weekend outings.

As part of these "cut backs" I have placed my V6 on SORN three months ago already but it is my intention to use this time (hopefully)to get the cam belts done as although it has only done 49k it is over the age limit.
My SD1 Vitesse is also being kept under wraps for the foreseeable future.

It would hurt me greatly if I have to dispose of such a beauty but with no current income whatsoever needs must I'm afraid, only time will tell.

A very big thank you to everyone who voted Tam's old girl as the car of the day. No one was more shocked than me when Derek made the announcement; it really was quite emotional.

George....You know what my thoughts on them are, being sent to 'Coventry' for nothing, i knew when a certain collegue was asked to work overtime to allow me to get the day off, it was'nt going to happen, in fact he waited untill Friday afternoon before saying he 'could'nt work' the Sunday for me, however i won't forget though.

Cracking day out yesterday....................nice to see everyone. Well done Tim on winning the award for best presented car, according to my sources it won by a long shot aswell & deservedly so (stripey mats), it is a real corker & a credit to you & it's previous owner;)

Stu I dont know if you spotted me but I first caught you at Newtown just yon side of Brampton but lost you at Brampton as I decided to go & look at something. I then planted my brogues into the axminster & caught you again at Nent:D but as you say I was being blocked by that wardrobe on wheels:D

Did not see you at Newtown, but defo clocked you behind the white car and the wardrobe, as we were going past nent, the only bit of the journey I did not like was that cobbled road through alston (I think), otherwise a lovely leisurely drive back, had to keep the windows down to cool down the head and neck, and me and Ronnie had to stop for one of those breaks George mentioned at the meet, the comfort break as we called it, but George had a Scottish name for it

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, but have suffered a little bit today with the after effects of the sun yesterday, but well worth it

How about this! Yesterday I did 207 miles, averaged 66.9 MPH and according to the IPK got 44.1 MPG. Refilling this morning I calculate the MPG at 44.7 (I calibrated the IPK last year) so my old 1.8 non turbo is nearly as good as a diesel, don’t forget on occasions I was up to 88mph indicated. Not bad for a car nearly 14 years old!

My offside back damper didnt like the cobbles at Alston either :( It left a little mess on the road when I got home and parked up.. The day was worth it though :bowdown:
