Noisy CDTI

Okay, it runs well and pulls like a train, but it has a diesel knock in the engine that makes it loud and spoils the 75 experience. Its not the crankshaft pulley(Corteco fitted two weeks ago)
My first thought is to run some Forte through the system to see if that quietens things down, what do others think.?

See my thread, your issue sounds similar! I have ordered some forte diesel treatment but it hasn't turned up yet. I have been running some 2-stroke through on last 4 tanks, but that hasn't improved things:

OK, but does yours sound like what I describe in my thread?

Not exactly, I stopped whilst driving yesterday and revved it in neutral and couldn't hear the rattles, but if you lift the bonnet or drive alongside a wall it sounds like an old fashioned type diesel, where they just clatter for the sake of it. Its done 120000 miles so its probably due a fuel treatment.
