The battery in my Connoisseur SE, 2.0 V6, Automatic has died a death. It won't charge either via the alternator or separate charger.

I've been on lots of different websites and entered my reg but they all seem to offer different rated/specification of batteries.

Can anyone tell me the original spec as fitted by MG Rover in the factory?

You need an 096 battery....
I fitted one of these....great service from them as well as a good price

Handbook says H6 Sealed for Life battery, 75amp/hr for 2.0 and 2.5, 63 amp/hr for the 1.8. Still on my original battery at 11 years:}:}

Thanks. Just had a quick look on eurocarparts so I can use the club discount code but they don't seem to have any 75 amp having entered my reg.

Phone some independent motor factors. There must be loads in Manchester.

Got one of THESE (http://www.tayna.co.uk/E44-Varta-Silver-Car-Battery-577400078-P7726.html) for my diesel, plenty of oomph in this one, ordered 4pm on a Wednesday arrived 8am Thursday, brilliant service.
