Since my car came without the cigar lighter insert when I bought it, I ordered a new pop out unit from Rimmer Brothers (YUJ105780PMP) according to the VIN of my car (2004 MG ZT). As I understand there has been a chance in 2004 from one unit to another, but I have ordered the one that fits with the S/N of my car. Well, the pop out unit is just a little bit too big to fit.
I have searched some threads and read that different units were fitted, but as I have bought the part that matches my car's VIN I wonder if the "non matching" part would miraculously fit?? Could there have been cars fitted with an older unit although they should have the new one? Are the old (YUJ1007400) and new (YUJ105780PMP) pop out units different in diameter? I definitely don't want to order another one that doesn't fit either...
