Strange lights problem ( or maybe not )

Turning into my works car park early hours this morning i open my door then turned engine off then the lights but for some strange reason the light stayed fully on. The only way i could switch them off was to shut the door then turn the light switch to on then off. Surely this can't be normal or am i missing something obvious

Sounds like the headlamp courtesy feature. Turn off the lights, then the ignition and the lights just go off. Turn off the ignition first and the lights will stay on for about 15 seconds after you shut the door... to light the way to your front door.

I think you'll find this might be the 'get you home' function.

The lights stay on for a short time then switch off (so you can get the key in your front door !)

It's normal mine stay on for about 30/40 seconds then switch off

You never stop learning is the old saying. Thankyou for unravelling that one for me. I would of never worked that one out for myself.
( If i was a light bulb i,d be the 10 watt energy saver )as Im not the brightest bulb in the pack :-D
