Yet another Chagall 75, this time a diesel Club SE, which is category C, on copart. Low miles too.

Monogram paint but cloth seats, why?

Cloth seats were standard on a Club SE in 2003.

I think he was reffering to the expensive paint finish, and why the owner opted for this on a lower specification car.

If you notice this Club SE also has the drivers intelegence pack.

Looks like a sad end to a lovely monogram and looks well looked after pre accident.

Not the end if someone wants to save it. It's not beyond redemption, certainly, and, could be a cheap, low mileage diesel auto, for someone.

Not a sad end at all, its an excuse to have a real pint of Guiness too :drool4:

To be fair may not be a lot of hardware to replace a relatively easy repair, would it be cheaper to respray whole car in cheaper colour rather than do in Chagall.

Is it easy to import cars from NI

I suppose we have no way of knowing why the first owner chose the options he did.

But, in 2003 Chagall cost £1000. Less the cost of metalic paint - £450.

Total extra cost of Chagall £550

Most likely reason for the spec. is that this 75 was used as a MG Rover Monogram showroom display vehicle.

Yours was the 14th Rover 75 in Chagall to leave the production line and is one of only two 2.0 CDT diesel saloons in Club SE trim. There is a further diesel Club (not SE) saloon, and also three 75 2.0 CDT Tourer Club SE cars in Chagall listed.

Pretty rare then

Above is part of my build info from reebs, therefore, if not saved, my car has become even more rare than stated above.

May I add, mine also came with cloth interior, I've fitted half leather but I actually prefer the cloth. I must be rare too.

Chagall is a standard Metallic finish, NOT a Chromactive colour, so wouldn't be any dearer to paint than any other metallic finish! ;)

That's very true..

The Monogram Supertallic range at a cost of £1000 were a way of making some potential profit for MG Rover.

Bearing in mind that the Monogram colours were hand sprayed, so I would think that the extra labour cost ate up most of the higher charges.

As I put earlier, a large number of Monogram painted cars were either finished for showroom display or presented to MG Rover managers and directors.

Extra lacquer, a very unusual feature feature of Monogramed MG Rover cars.

The Monogram Duotone saloon I had was lacquered under the bonnet and boot.
