are you sure it is not a wheel bearing?

Jack up the back and spin the wheel to see if the bearing sounds dry or rumbly.
Doesn't have to be loud to be knackered..

Not hard to replace with a descent socket set and maybe a flywheel puller / heavy hammer... half hours work if it all goes well..

May as well, low cost and you have the tools out.!
They tend to wear out at the same rate anyway so it's always worth keeping things in balance from one side of the car to the other.

I am an engineer by trade, I changed both of mine last summer, have done 20k and absolutely no issues, still smooth, quiet and reliable. Unless you are putting a lot of angular strain on a bearing like with the front wheels, then you are not going to go far wrong. I have a very rough rear access to my house so they get a real workout twice a day, and I drive on Fenland roads so not exactly flat.

If you prefer shiny and more expensive these may be to your liking...

Although I expect they will do pretty much the same job as long as you fit them right...
note: it also has an unbranded bearing...
