Bit the bullet and bought a new oil cooler to hopefully cure the oil and water issues I have.

Just wondered if anyone has any pointers or a how to for removal and refitting. :}

Obviously draining oil and coolant. Are there any special tools needed, or major items to remove?

Thanks in advance. :}

Hi Ben,

MG Rover says:

Remove ancillary drive belt.
Drain cooling system.
Drain engine oil.
Remove oil cooler pipe unions from oil filter.
Remove dipstick.
Remove coolant hoses from oil cooler.
Remove oil cooler.

That's it in summary. It's also in Haynes.

If I were you I would detach your engine undertray, crawl underneath and have a look.

Thanks for those Simon. I'll have a go and try and post some pics. :} I'll be interested to see if this is the cause.

Good luck, I've not done one myself, but it doesn't seem too bad from a cursory glance around this and other forums.
