Could anybody help with installing 12 volt led's to indicate left/right indicators, rear-fog lamp, main beam and dipped beam.
Have drilled and prepared holes in top of radio housing and put tails on led's.
Now need help as to best places to connect to:
l/r Indicators
Main/Dip beam
Rear fol-lamp

Doing this to get thru mot and then continue to find k-bus problem!?

Would be pleased of any help.

Do you have electric memory seats? Sometimes the seat ecu causes a k-bus issue.

John,

Another member recently found his K-bus problem using only a multimeter and determination. Read through this (http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=188611).

Thanks guys for your comments.
I have my multi-meter and am tracking down k-bus error.

In meantime have wired-up LED's for Main/Dipped Beam, Indicators and Rear fog.

Thanks.
Have done this several time and everything works ok.
Put it into auto electrician and he suggest LSM or IPK problem.
Changed LSM and no change.
MOT re-test on wednesday.
Frustrated....

The lsm needs a t4 session to configure it to your car, as does any ipk, perhaps that's where your problem lies:shrug:

Only just seen the thread. Is all the instrument cluster bu**ered? or does some of it work ie, high beem on the dash, when selected? I have an IPK issue too, but sorry to say would not carry out your mods. My suspicion would still be the ECU. Having owned and still in position of 6 CDTi's I still almost always find that the ECU is damaged, even if there is no sign of damage, I can't t remember how many I have sent to Brian :bowdown: all returned, key in ignition, and never had an issue again. in my experience, although limited, (i own a T4) the issues even KBUS errors, are always ECU. even my own motor, which started then failed was again the ECU. sometimes you don't even notice the water problem until months later, even after ECU power upgrades issues (returned and then none starter) have been noted, that were ECU failures. I hope you get to the bottom of it anyway, before you have to drill more holes in the car!!:smilie_re::duh::duh:

I'd be surprised if it was the ECU in this case. As far as I know the ECU houses the CAN Bus controller, but it isn't on the K Bus, and this does sound like a K Bus fault.

Have you added or removed anything from the car?
Have you moved any wiring?

Klarzy,
Only thing I've removed is wet carpets and water.
Lights begin to work after 2hrs at speed on the motorway.
A few minutes after stopping the fault returns.
Thanks for help,
John

Do you have memory seats?

That's what I had thought as I have seen the seat ecu cause issues, if the floor was wet it may be the cause.

Get the seat in the ideal position, pull the battery, disconnect both seat movement plugs, leave for 30 mins, reconnect battery and try the functions... if they work it is the k-bus to the seats.... (if fitted)

I do have electric seats.
When I get car back from MOT tomorrow I will try your suggestion.
Thanks very much for your support.
John
P.S. It seems they have accepted my workaround...

A short on the electric seats may cause an issue, but particularly if you have the memory seats, the cpu for the memory is on the k-bus and i had a similar issue when i plugged the memory seats in, the indicators, door open warning etc stopped working.

It happened on a seat install I did, the poor guy didn't realise till he got pulled over as his indicator was on but the dash didn't show it :getmecoat:

If it is the seat the K-BUS wire can be cut, the seat will function as normal but you will have to hold the memory buttons if you have them programmed.

I found if you unplug the seat and the battery for 30 mins, plug the seat back in, then the battery... the K-bus accepts it and works as normal with full auto memory and IPK sounder... it's plugging them in with the battery connected which sent the system FUBAR...

The water ingress the OP suffered may have done more than this but a reset may be all that is needed, but please leave the battery off for the full half hour as shorter than this and it really is less effective...

Did as Klarzy suggested:
Removed positive on battery, disconnected seats, connected battery and try indicators.
Still same.
Some good news however the car passed its MOT today with Led mod.
Still searching for k-bus fault.
Thanks everyone.
Any more ideas please let me know...
