Folks.
I am replacing my top strut bearings in 14 days time and I am probably going to replace the front springs as well as a matter of course.
I have found these on ebay, they seem a good spring. Question is should I go for the zt springs instead.
The car is a 75 cdti, soon to be uprated to the 160 map. Spirited driving on occasion!!! Thoughts greatly received.
Regards
John

If you don't mind compromising the soft ride, go for it, handling is much improved.

How much compromise is there? Would I also have to fit the rear springs?

you could fit only the fronts but it would look a tad funny, the rear arches are lower on the 75 from factory anyway.
the compromise won't be huge, you'll just notice a few more bumps at lower speeds.

So are they different lengths or is it just because they are stiffer that the ride height would be different?

the zt ones will be 10/15mm shorter and a tad stiffer

I find the ZT suspension is quite a bit harder than the 75, but you only really notice it on speed bumps, that's what I find anyway. The 75 suspension glides over all bumps :drool4:

Cornering is miles better with the ZT suspension though, feels much tighter :}

I have a ZT-T, and even with the 18" alloy wheels I don't find it too hard.
Also, I'd grab a set of strut top bearings while I have them discounted as part of my Summer Sale:
75/ZT Strut Top Bearings (http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/steering-components/products/rover-75-mg-zt-strut-top-bearings-rnr100090-oem)

I'm currently deciding if I replace the suspension on my ZT-T with the standard kit, or some lowering springs - but as I'm in the countryside, I think anything lower than it is now will be a bit of a pain.

I already have some bearings which are ready to fit. Are the dampers different on the zt or is it just the springs?
