Having seen many discussions over shaving the alcantara I, being a lazy man, thought I would see if there was an easy way. Someone mentioned a Remington Fuzz Away (tm) or similar. I bought one off ebay and, by god, it works. Not perfect, but the alcantara's gone from the wet dog look to slightly worn now.

Chucked a load of Gliptone at the leather too and safe to say my car, hands and clothes that I thought I'd wash with the cloth I used now all have the reassuring smell of dead cow.

One problem though - the bolster on my drivers seat is getting worn (hardly surprising) and starting to scuff and split. Does anyone know someone in the south east (or South Cotswolds if they're open this Saturday) who can repair it before it becomes terminal?

Gliptone do scuff repair colouring for leather as well as the Liquid Leather treatment. Have a look at the restoration examples on their web-site (http://www.liquidleather.com).

Interestingly in searching for their web-site I found this (http://www.gliptone.com/).

:D Yes, I know. I wanted to put the car through a service and MOT and assess the damage before spending any more money. Maybe next time....

Tried them but they said they couldn't match the colour without a sample - which would require me cutting a bigger bit out of the seat......

I sent them my middle rear head restraint.

I've just checked my bottle of Scuffs to see if it has a particular colour code on it, but it doesn't.
