Also we were best out of 29 car clubs. Not bad that folks. :bowdown:

Managed to get car washed tonight to get rid of that flamin' tree sap. Lesson learned. Hope Graham got his washed too. Harder to shift if you leave it any time.

I think we were about an hour trying to get out. I was worried about my fan not coming on until 112 degrees. Ive posted the question in the Technical Help section.

I hope Tam managed ok in his P6.

Wasn't the most dignified exit for me! First attempt at the back of 6 I moved about 5 car lengths in half an hour :eek: I gave up and headed up to the campsite to visit some pals who were having a barbecue .
Second attempt at half 7 still in a long line I ended up suffering the dreaded "fuel vaporisation" :duh: So sat with bonnet up waving cars past, eventually cars behind dwindled away and I was able to roll back onto a level bit of ground . Where I could undo fuel line at filter and sucked up some fuel through pump and away I went again ;)
So finally got out the place in the dark and was probably last home even staying the closest :mad:

The good thing about these events is it gets folk asking about the cars (we had quite a bit of interest in the cars on our Scottish Kit Car Club stand too)

However I do agree they need to sort out getting away from the event ....took me over an hour to get out of the place !

Hi,

I'm a classic car buff and have bought a 75 diesel tourer for myself and a V6 saloon for my wife for everyday use. With only 61k mls & 21k mls respectively with FRSH, from dealers, south of London.
I was a member of Ayrshire Classics and just looked at Scone Show pics and was amazed that 75/ZT are now on show, as they should be. Used to have 2 Rover P5B V8 matching saloons and an SD1 in show condition.
Where and when do the Glasgow area meet during the winter and how do I get in contact with the servicing guy near Dundee and is there anybody near Ayr please?

I was a member of Ayrshire Classics and just looked at Scone Show pics and was amazed that 75/ZT are now on show, as they should be. Used to have 2 Rover P5B V8 matching saloons and an SD1 in show condition.
Where and when do the Glasgow area meet during the winter and how do I get in contact with the servicing guy near Dundee and is there anybody near Ayr please?

2014 saw the club attend the Scone show for the first time and we also showed the cars at the Glamis show in 2014. We intend to return to both in 2015.

The Glasgow members dont meet as such during the winter but there is a monthly meet for all areas at the Hawes Inn which sits under the Forth Rail Bridge. The meets are called the Tam Leek Meeting and organised by Flyer and Graham. New members are always welcome so feel free to go along.

Probably our first organised meet of 2015 will be in March, at the Glasgow Transport musum (aka Riverside Museum) but this has still to be confirmed.

We ahve a few members in Ayrshire so you are in good complany. They are Jim Jamieson, parahandy, murphyv310, Simondi (im sure there are more) and a few in the Dunfries area.
