Greetings!

I am advised that the date and venue for the next Scottish All Rover Rally has now been decided.

As usual the event will run over the weekend of the Late Spring Bank Holiday, with a road run and dinner on Saturday 22 May 2015 and a static show on Sunday 24th. The static show will be held at Thirlstane Castle, near Lauder, in the Scottish Borders.

Full details and entry forms will be available in the New Year, but additional information may be obtained from the Rally Chairman, Mr George Beattie, via [email protected].

Please include the date and preliminary details in the "Events and Meets" section of future issues of the club forum. Full details will be forwarded to you as they become available.

regards Trevor Colebrook

Is it a drive down on the sunday :) :)

Hi Keith.

The SARR has been so far a weekend event with a road run on the Saturday then staying somewhere overnight with the main show/display on the Sunday.

However you get the choice when booking, as I personally just go on the Sunday.

If like me you choose to go on the Sunday it will just cost £10 to enter.

Yeah it would be a sunday jaunt for me too as its so close to POL :D :D

SARR do not normally send out entry acknowledgements unless such has been specifically asked for on the entry form submitted.
If you have any doubt that your entry form has been received just check to verify that the cheque has been cashed!
SARR accepts entrants "on the day" unlike some other shows so just turn up anyway if you did not get your advance entry form in.

Not having been before what is the script??

are we meeting up before entering...if so when and where ?? I know I am meeting up with Aldo at Newbridge MacDonald's and is it is 9.30 that will be around 8am

what time do we need to be on site for ...site says control opens at 9.30am ...so is that the latest or the earliest ...do we need to bring anything ...is there water to wash the car, or do we bring our own

is there someplace to have lunch ??

Would have thought some information would have been sent or posted out by now

Not done Thirlstane before so I don't know what facilities are. I usually bring my own water (and lunch). I'm going to aim to be on site for round 10:30 ish.

Hi Fraz.

I was going to ask if any of the Scottish contingent fancied meeting up at Pathhead Medical Centre (on the A68) say about 9am then have a nice drive down to Lauder as the cars have to be in place for about 10/10.30.

There is a tearoom open at Thirlstane Castle.

Anyone up for this ?

We won't leave until 09.30. That leaves plenty of time for run to Lauder. I will PM my mobile no. give me a call/text if you're running late. Med centre is at the top of the hill on the right.

That is the correct postcode Fraz.

I will be there for 9am and we will leave say 9.30am then have a gentle run down to Lauder which isn't that far away, still be there in plenty time.

There is a tearoom in the castle for snacks and drinks.

Had a great time yesterday - it was nice to meet members i hadn't met before & catch up with others i had.
To then win the best in class award brought the day to a fantastic end. Many thanks to all who voted for my car - with the other cars that were on display it was a real surprise.

I'm a bit slow getting to this (very busy week) but here are a few of my photos from last Sunday's SARR.

It was an enjoyable day and a beautiful venue. It was great to see some familiar faces and meet some new folk as well.
