Just a quickie. Picked up a lovely old couples computer to repair this evening. They knew I had a 75 and they said they had one but it was at a garage and it won't start. It's a diesel. Any obvious tips please. I said I would ask.

It has fuel and it turns over but won't fire

take the fuel filler cap off, turn on ignition, and put your ear to the filler neck and listen for humming,if there is none, innate pump not working, if there is,open bonnet and check under bonnet pump, next to battery box, you should be able to feel t vibrating. If both pumps are operating, could be crank sensor, ecu fault, the list goes on.

Check the plenums to make sure the ECU hasn't gone for a swim. :getmecoat:

The two other common failures to start are a failed cam sensor or injector leakback.

If it starts with a sniff of Easystart then it isn't the cam sensor.

If the ECU has been for a swim, I can sort that out for them too ;)
