They often fail, they live at the bottom l h side of the tank, easily accessed from the plastic wheel arch liner.

Here is a picture of my washer bottle sensor on my 75. The sensor on my 75 had popped out from its location on the washer bottle and needed to be reinserted into its housing.
Which was a very quick job to do, but I had removed the front bumper to replace the sensor.

The sensor doesn't live in the tank, it's a reed switch operated by a magnetic float within the tank. Have you ever flushed the tank? They all accumulate gunge at the bottom of the tank that can cause the float to stick. My low level light wouldn't come on so I flushed the tank with a hot water/mild bleech solution several times, that dissolved the gunge and freed the float up.

I've got 75 diesel Connie se and I've never seen a low washer level warning light in five years
Maybe it's busted I just thought it didn't have one

I had the same on my first 75, turned out the sensor was push fit and had slipped out.
Pushed it back and problem solved.

Hot far down the bottle does water have to be before lite cums onBelow the step where the headlight wash pump sits. If you have headlight wash it is worth checking your low level light works as when it comes on it cuts power to the headlight wash pump to prevent damage due to it running dry.

Mine is broken, the wires were all corroded inside the plug so I took it out and it's still out, because I check the level in the washer bottle regularly it's not a problem, new ones about fifteen quid I think.

Hi thanks for your reply. I haven't got headlight wash
I just wondered roughly how far the water goes down before light cums on.
