I have a query over FBH:
1. does come on and warm the diesel engine when 5deg, for a better start.
2. does it come on and defrost front screen and warm the interior of the car.
3. does both.

I know there have been may threads and suspect my FBH does not work. Is a costly repair?

Like many this cold snap the front screen inside has frosted over and when the weather not so cold in mornings screen has a lot of condensation.

yours thoughts and comments please. I have very little mechanical knowledge.

regards

It starts with the engine when outside temp is less than 5deg C.

It can also be set to start via a timer or remote. In some cases both timer and remote are present.

I have mine set up with a remote and also wired the climate control up via a relay and thermal switch attached to the heater matrix. Now I can switch the heater on from the house and when the coolant passing through the heater matrix is 40deg C the blowers start circulatIng warm air. It's amazing!
