New Renault 5 Thermostat

Hi guys just trying to clarify as getting confused looking at all the threads on this, do i put the stat in the top hose at the radiator end or the head end, and which way round, if the head end which way does the stat face small narrow end to the head or the radiator?

The pipe end facing the camera, is the part that goes to the engine. :} You wouldnt be able to fit the thermostat into the other end, anyway without damage to either yourself or the hose.;)
