how easy is it to remove the bottom engine mount on the drivers side?

On the diesels - quite easy. Jack up car, support on axle stands under the two front jacking points. Remove the undertray (10 screws). Now you can crawl under the car and unbolt the lower rear engine mount - two 15mm bolts - they might be a bit tight, so a breaker bar or similar may be needed.

I have never done this job on a petrol 75/ZT - I gather the access is not quite so good due to some extra pipework near the mount, but it should not be too difficult.

There are various threads on here about which replacement mounts to use - in my experience an original OEM spec mount gave the best results. I tried a Powerflex bush mount, but got some harsh vibration, so switched back to an OEM item. Some folks have used modified Mondeo mounts, saving some cost.

Or pay the local mg specialists £27 to do it like I will be doing next week. :-)

Easy, took me 20 mins. 10 mins if that was as loosening the bolts, mega tight

My two pence worth....go for OEM type as i tried pretty much all of them including the big red powerflex one.Decided to keep these two for spare.....just in case the oem fails prematurely.
