Hi all, what should I do?

Buy the original again, it only lasted 35k or buy the Tazu replacement, but that is getting bad reviews on here.

Are there any other brands that make them?

cheers
Ian

The MK1 Tazu seems to get ok reviews once you've got fitment out of the way.

I bought the Mark 2 and had nothing but problems with it, it was replaced with the Tazu Mark 1 with a flexi hose from HEL brakelines, no problems with that cylinder so far?

Its leaking at the moment. Works fine for a while after bleeding and refilling.

Thanks all.

Who sells the MK1 Tazu and what flexi hose is required?

Mk1 Tazu seems to be the best all rounder - as mentioned fitting can be tricky (but I've done it many times with no problems) but once fitted they're great.

I usually have them but I'm waiting stock - if you're OK to wait a week or so I'll have more. :)

I fitted the luk set, master, clave and clutch. All is well so far (although so far is only 10k miles)

There's no real reason a plastic one should be a problem in this service, within reasonable mileage.

They do sometimes last well - some originals have done well over 150,000 without a problem - some just seem to fail quite quickly too. With any luck you'll be in the first group. :)

I had 3 fitted to my 75 Tourer within a year - all confirmed by LUK as faulty. That rather put me off! :getmecoat:

Clutch master cylinder- which should I buy?

According to this, the Tazu Mk1 now comes in a RHD version. Is that correct?

TCUnits are identical - just the pipework length that differs.
There are no LHD, RHD, diesel or petrol master cylinders - its all the same part with different number. The only difference is pipe length. For LHD its 630 mm and for RHD its 800 mm.

Dave, as i said before there are no lhd or rhd units, the only difference is pipe length, LHD - 630 mm , RHD 800 mm

I've gone for the Tazu MK1 solution - I've bought mine direct from Tazu with the 15% discount and the HEL braided hose arrived this morning. Hoping to fit next weekend.

The RHD version was always just a different length of pipework - the casting is the same. :)

My mk2 tazu master cylinder leaks from the seals that are on the rod and its not that old, thankfully dmrgs are sending me a seal kit so fingers crossed it's a success (will let you know once I get the seals)

Oh OK. I assumed they'd altered the outlet angle, which seems to be an issue for RHD fitment.

I've got a Tazu mark 2, all metal one, that I recently bought but I don't need as there was a delay in shipping it to me and needed car running asap so bought one from another source.

These retail for £95 + post from Andi Willi I think. Just want back what I paid £65 + post.

Let me know if you're interested!

Thanks

The front seal, where the pushrod comes through, my bet is its out of alignment .

And that's a mk2 tazu,don't know if there's been any probs with the mk1.

I would recommended fitting with a custom flexi pipe makes the job alot easier and a better pipe than the copper pipe
