I need front bumper and wing to repair my '99 connoisseur. Most of the good ones available tend to be off 2002 or 2003 cars. is it safe to assume they will fit, or are there subtle differences?

I can't see a problem as long as you get Mk1 ones.
The facelift didn't come in until 2004 and would imagine that they would also fit, if you wanted them to.

Colour match will be the problem, I bought a 2nd hand wedgewood nearside rear door from a weggie of the same year, but am told it is a slightly diff colour now! ???

Same when I had a front wing resprayed, fine at first, but gradually lightened up.. :duh:

The good news is, I am colour blind, so they look fine to me.. heh heh.. :D

Your mates are probably pulling your leg then James. :D

Copperleaf Red seems a stable colour match from the factory - I've got two wings from two different cars and it all matches.

I'm colour blind as well mind. :getmecoat:
