...for trailer hubs?

Fitting new indespension units, hubs and taper roller bearings to our small trailer.
I have some black grease- dont know what spec- but is feels a bit thin.

Will it be ok or is there a specific spec i should look out for?

EDIT: Just found some Lith Moly No2 Extreme Pressure. That would do it I think????

You need high melting point grease for hub bearings. If you're not sure, don't use it. You can buy HMP grease in small tins or tubes very reasonably.

Its a 55 mile round trip to buy things like grease Mike. Hoping what I have already will do.

If it's not high melting point, it will melt and run outwards, it may even boil! The problem is that it can then push past the bearing seals and contaminate your brakes (assuming your trailer is braked). Also, once it has run, it is no longer lubricating your bearings and they can fail. I've seen bearings weld themselves to the shaft and shear it off!:duh:
