The V5 log book describes my car as a Rover 75 Connoisseur SE CDT but the badge on the boot says "CDTi" - is there any other way to tell if it is a basic CDT or CDTi or are both the same? I do not believe that the boot lid has been swapped and the 'CDTi' lettering looks original.

I believe if you send a message to 'Reebs' with your VIN he will tell all.... ;)

Usually CDT means it has 116PS, and CDTi has 131PS
Some people put a CDTi badge on the back :D

My V5 tells me power output in Kw. Says 85Kw (116 ps). Maybe only late ones?

From your year model I would say it is a CDT another way to check is look in the engine bay, look at the intercooler hose coming from the EGR to the intercooler and see if it as a boost sensor if yes it should be a CDTi 135 if not it will be a CDT, also take a look at the drivers door jam where the lock connects see if you have a sticker there.
If it is a 116 you could also have changed to a 160 :D

I have read on here before that from a certain point all versions were badged as CDTi
Found it ; post #14 on this thread http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=188739&highlight=badged+cdti&page=2

CDTi is simply a rebadging of the CDT. it's got nothing to do with BHP; just marketing.

The presence of the boost temperature sensor in the intercooler hose is not a reliable indicator.
For instance Mrs MB's Classicasseur is a 116.....erm....well that's what it used to be :getmecoat:

There's a way to tell a factory 116 from a factory 131, it's the version & variant numbers on the logbook...........................there's a little table somewhere tells you
