my washers come on their own if i press down on the waser bottle they stop also the wippers have a mind of thier own , car is 75 diesel 53 plate thanks

could be the wiring is chaffing and shorting, losing contact when you press down?

do you have rain sensing wipers or again could be relates to a chaffing short??:shrug:

follow the motor wire back from the pump and check for rubbing or trapped water...
