I would like to be advised of any tool obd to make the diagnosis on my rover 75 cdt 2000:shrug:

Hello!
Get yourself an OBD bluetooth device from eBay and connect it to a smartphone via an app called Torque ;) This app will give you any fault codes stored in your ECU. However, I suspect from your post that a T4 session is needed.

We have seen , however, the majority are not compatible know a link compatible

Sorry to say that if you are trying to actually locate a fault it's unlikely that any generic OBD device is going to be much use, you'll be lucky if can read any of the fault codes on a car that early I would have thought. Certainly don't get any show when using an ELM327 with the torque app on my 2003 cdt: T4 has no problem and finds them all though.

Nowhere near as good but considerably cheaper, especially if bought second hand, is the Sykes Pickavant ACR4 with one of the later Rover pods.

It will read engine fault codes and do a fair bit more.
