I'm considering a transplant of my dash dials and I think but not sure that it is called an IPK.

What I would like to know is can this be done from the older one with no screen to one with the screen to display things like MG and so on.

If it can what is needed?

Also how big of a job is it?

Thanks

You can but you need a T4 to make it work, Klarzy doesn't have one ;):}

Source yourself a HilIne IPK and make a trip up to BigRuss in Cleckheaton W.Yorks and he will code it in with T4.

if you are going from a non message centre IPK to a message centre (with the screen) then you need a new IPK with a screen and a virgin program installed so that it can be successfully married up to your car.

Things like dials etc are easily interchanged but you do need to consider things like

LED colour behind the dials
Reversing sounder (do you have and does it come from the ipk?)
if you have a 260 (v8) then you need a special kind of IPK as the standard types wont work with that model.

Dials, needles can all be customised to suit as can the Led's but if you can get an IPK with what you want then it saves that cost.

I am low ish on stock at the moment and have 4 customers this week who may need one so I can not promise to have one when you are ready, but if you look on ebay or ask breakers then one with a YAC 003850 ot YAC 003750 code should see you ok.

remember if you get a second hand one it will need virginising before install.

I know that myself, Marinbrian and Phil T4 can do this and they can supply an ipk as well... Brian and Phil can also T4 the ipk to the car (I can not)

a bit to think about but should give you some idea....

I can transplant from 1 message centre to another, but not an upgrade from non to message centre...

Out of interest, what's the difference?

I think the fuel gauge resistance feed is reversed, maybe stepper motor differences too...

They probably had to use faster stepper motors for the V8 fuel gauges........:getmecoat:

A bit of lead on the end of the pointer would fix that:eek:

You will need the earlier white illumination. Perhaps stick a post in the items wanted section, could be cheaper and keep it all in the club.

I should charge 15 extra for the lower led's in white but I will let it go for you... I can put diesel dials in if needed as well...

all you need do it T4 to your car at a meet etc...

unless you have a message centre then it is a straight program swap or chip swap which I can do (you are only 101 miles away...)

varleyjr

I run a petrol 160 v6 so no need to swap the dials. The car is trophy blue with part leather blue seats and I was going to swap all the dash lights out for blue.
