Weather permitting, I want to change the pollen filter on my 02 cdt this weekend. Last time I did it I struggled to get the filter past the ecu, I know it slides out a bit but is it easy and safe to disconnect the wiring connector on the top?. Thanks, John.

John

If you unclip the large brown cable clip to the left of the ECU (looking from the front of the car), this gives you a bit more 'slack' to manoeuvre the ECU upwards and to one side to give good access to the filter, without the need to disconnect the wiring.

I think there is a risk in disconnecting the ECU wires if the battery is not disconnected, but I am not an expert on ECUs - there are others on here who can advise on this point.

Obviously, clean out the plenum drain under the filter whilst you are in there.

Good luck

Pete
