Are auto gearbox ecu's plug and play?

Reason I ask is if I break the ecu in my car, can I simply plug another one in or will it need t4'ing?

I can say a couple of things.

I've done a lot of reading about the autobox setup on the 75, in my search for an answer for my box that suffers "Jatco jerk" and I've seen nothing to suggest that it isn't "plug and play".

There are two types, but they changed very early (even my car is the later version).

Don't take that as definitive though.
See it more as a bump and a way for me to subscribe to the thread :}

On another note, I did have another skim through your thread and I still don't know what to suggest... Seems to be a strange one.
