Aircon Pump ?

Had smoke coming from under my bonnet today and when I popped the bonnet the pulley at the bottom on the left hand side was locked solid and red hot. It consequently melted straight through the belt and I had to get towed home.
Is it the aircon pump?
Where is the best place to get one and is it a job that I can do myself ?

Hi sorry not familiar with the V8 but if you have silver pipes going to it and radiator then yes its the air conditioning compressor if the pipes disappear below the engine to the suspension it's the power steering pump both items may be the same as the V6 but unsure
