I have now incorporated self dim relays in the lights, this pushes the price up slightly (18.00) but negates the argument over some views of the MOT regs.

The lights will now dim 50% when the sidelights are switched and the halos are powered directly from a flying lead that is connected to a switched live (posII) usually from the engine fuse box, they come on with ignition and wiring is simple.

There is also a kill switch to shut off the halos totally if you need to.

Could this be easily done to mine if the MOT tester gets uptight about them?

yes...

lights out and half an hour to an hour a side, then connect the live flying lead to a switched 12V
I keep all the control relays and resistors inside the units so they keep the stock look.

Ok... so now we have got to this point...

2 ring or 4 ring
as sidelight or DRL dim with sidelight relay included
Isolation switch (if needed)

now I can offer dimming relays at £12 a pair (25, 40 or 50%) + post
