Hi. Does anyone know what the thread size is on the oil switch connection on the V6 block? I want to test the oil pressure and I need to know I'm buying the correct test kit.
Cheers. Steve

1/8" or 1/4" NPT at a guess. Oil pressures will only worry you, say that 15PSI at idle hot is a good start.

Thanks for that Andy.
I've not had this car long (2.5 190) and it has a top-end rattle that comes in about 2000rpm. The previous owner has sent me the mot and after reading it, it looks like this car has done less than a couple of thousand miles a year for the last five mots, and one year it did less than that.
I've done the belts and found a really slack belt and it does go really well.
The "clicking" has changed a bit in sound since I changed the oil and added some of that winns hydro lifter cleaner and I'll leave it a couple of weeks, then drain it and use some comma flush.
The thing is, if I have to do a bit of surgery like lifters and valve springs, I will need to know if its worth doing. Hence the oil pressure test.
Oh, I also changed the plastic inlet manifold which incidentally has had all its innards removed at some point! Steve

Thanks for that Lozzer. Looks like I'll have to do a bit of plumbing as non of the kits have a connector that size.
Can you tell me what make/model your gauge is please? Steve
