I've just changed the box (infrared) that works steering control buttons for stereo from a breaker car. I've spliced it in to my existing loom. Upon. Testing steering control still don't work. Does this need coding in on a T4? Originally stopped working after swapping to black oak dash.

Did you by any chance dislodge or move the IR sender (small blue plastic bit) under the "eyebrow" when you swapped the dash. They can be quite picky on the position they are in, it should just be sticking out through the left hand hole.

What is the make and model of the stereo you have fitted ???

No type of radio needs a T4 session.

I broke the little blue bit on mine that's why I swapped the whole unit over

I put it in the right hole so could that be the problem?

I can't say for sure but I know mine has always been fussy (sometimes doesn't work if something is in that cubbyhole) and only worked on the left. I would say its worth a try but I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon.

Check the LED by looking at it through a digital camera/phone camera while operating the steering wheel switches,. If it is working, as above, make sure the stereo can 'see' it.

This is where the infra red sender should be.
