Before a 'Mod' jumps on this its not about threads! Just wondered if the 75 or ZT has the option of full closure from the remote. Maybe a T4 option so you can close all windows and sunroof with the remote on the key?:D

No, you can't do it with T4, and you will need a separate remote.

Ronnie Suzublu will know what you need as he has something similar fitted to his car ;)

Had it in my last couple of rovers ( Ti & vitesse) but had to use an aftermarket alarm (Clifford) to get it working.

Shame, considering bmw designed it would have thought the "Magic" of T4 would be able to do it. Sounds like to much effort to retro fit:duh:

This may be what you are looking for.
Looks easy enough to do (all relative :}) and plenty of suitable remotes on the bay.

the desinger of this mod has since made a module which does this automaticly with just a single press of the remote button and also opens or closes the powerfold mirrors and also allows for automaticly unlocking the car doors when you switch off the engine if you want to for example if you have speed locking. it is also able to be oporated from the original key fob so you dont need another remote.

I twiddled the spindle between door handle and actuator earlier and the windows closed, like a full closure lock. What's all that about? I thought they couldn't do it? How do we make it do it from the remote? Is it a hardware difference?

if you use the switch line from the drivers door lock to the BCU you can have a relay close the circuit and if you hold it closed for 7-8 seconds all of the doors will lock and the windows and roof close just as if you were holding the key in the lock position in the drivers door.... lazy close...
if you use a remote or GSM receiver to close the relay then you have full remote lazy close...

easy...

I believe Ronnie carried this out on my car when it was in Grandys ownership. Nice little gadget - also opens all windows, sounds the horn and opens the boot on another button. Also has the power folds integrated to open or close.

Either I am missing something, or I have misread something. I thought that global closure was a T4 option? I certainly hope so as shortly before Brian retired I was going to get it done!! - I asked him so I hope I didn't look like an idiot!!

This is by the buttons on the fob, what you are talking about is by the key in the drivers door lock

Hi Craig
Yes I think you are referring to Paul (Raistlin) key fob mod as below and the link above you posted, I think it as moved on since 2009-10

Yes. Excellent piece of kit, a fair bit of wiring to do, but take your time and it will be straight forward.

Paul, (Raistlin) very helpful if needed as well. I think I am actually in that link somewhere!

Steve.
