View Full Version : Major Fuel Leak

Hi,

This weekend I've been having problems with ZT KV6 not starting/cutting out with petrol leaking everywhere.

The fuel pipe connector (looks to have 2 release buttons) that runs from the fuel pump pipe up to the rear of the engine bay, keeps popping off the metal injector rail feed pipe.

How can I fix this without having to get and fit a full set of under floor pipes as the connector itself doesn't seem to be available? I did think of cutting the connector off and jubilee clipping the fuel pipe on, but would rather not bodge!

I thank you for your wisdom in advance

Regards
Chris

Maybe check out eBay. Some second hand fuel rails come with the metal pipe and clip.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out and have a look around a few breakers.

I did find these on eBay, but frustratingly, I can only seem to get them from Australia!

I'm not sure how they'd fit the MGR rail socket. With 50psi petrol going in there, the joint needs to be perfect.

But there's already something similar connecting the the under floor fuel lines to the feed pipe (WJP108143 (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-WJP108143))

Image of the offending article that's failing:

Ah, OK. I thought you meant the feed pipe to fuel rail connection, which is diffrent. Should have read your description more carefully.

Maybe my description wasn't the best lol

Have you come across such a connector before, I might be better of finding a V6 in the scrappers and hacking one off the end of the fuel line

I'd grab one from a breaker's yard, and then change the O Rings too:
Fuel Rail Feed O Ring Kit (http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/seals-washers-and-o-rings/products/kv6-fuel-rail-feed-pipe-o-ring-seal-kit-rover-75-mg-zt-rover-45-mg-zs)
