Was just accelerating the other night when there was what I thought my cat blowing to pieces. Took ages (and help of AA man) to find out it was actually part of the black plastic inlet manifold that had blown a chunk out :-(

Just checked price on rimmers so I think its going to be 2nd hand one. what a pain!

Have a really good look at that manifold when you get your hands on it.
The one on the Wife's MGF had started to crumble where the water passes.

Get the land rover inlet gasket, it is slightly thicker and it's brown and doesn't leak like the green ones do.

Another useless piece of plastic.
I wonder if you had a backfire for some reason.

If you get a VVC manifold in metal that you don't need, sell it to me, please!;)

Its actually all fixed now :-)

Ive taken quite a few photos which Ill post up next week as the job got a little more complicated due to the breaker cutting through the wiring loom for the injectors - doh!

Right pain to transfer the wiring from old manifiold to new :-(
