However, when Ed broke a rear spring a couple of years ago, I just bought a generic spring off eBay and it's been fine! :}

Check out the KYB website. They will show you a range of springs including the ones for the MG.

If you really want to have the oem ones then the rimmers link earlier is the one to use.

Then check out the KYB catalogue, and buy the model relevant to your car - they'll work fine, and are good quality.

Also, while you're changing the springs check the condition of the Rear Upper Arms (the arm the spring sits in), as they commonly corrode.
If yours are OK you'd be well advised to paint them up to stop further corrosion - if they're quite crusty, we have them new here:

They might fit but the Rover 75 and MG ZT springs are different.
The ZT have shorter springs and are thicker in diameter.

I fitted Sachs springs to mine and am quite pleased with them.
If you are looking after market something like these (http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/MG_ZT-T_2.5_2002/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/coil-spring/?627750600&1&c801df323814f2202a10cef65618187955b321b2&000073) are worth a look. ;)

hi all, mg ztt just failed mot on rear coil spring as broke,

My car went through its MoT recently and passed. Afterwards they spotted that both rear springs were broken (AGAIN!:mad:) But they passed it as they did not spot it during the MoT and they considered it not to be important :eek::shrug:
