Hi. I have an MG ZT, engine: V6 24 valve quad cam and it is losing quite a lot of water, although not overheating, and every time I drive it the fan comes on! Any advice on what the problem could be would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Alan p.s. It is a 2003 model

Look under the engine cover for a puddle. If so that's the thermostat housing doing it's thing. It's about as common as a rainy day.

I've had a look under the cover and it looks like it's been leaking from the housing, it's like a limescale built up round the housing. I ran the car for half an hour or so but couldn't see anything leaking out of it, although it looks like it has been leaking from there. Is this a quick fix, easy to do, expensive? As I haven't a clue, thank you.

I'm afraid Alan that it isn't quick or easy and is expensive if you pay a garage because there's a lot of dismantling to do to gain access to the thermostat housing.

But on the other hand it's a lot cheaper than owning a fashionable German SUV. :D
