Hi all,

I need urgent help. I'm under the car, changing oil and coolant.
I also wanted to change the thermostat I got from dmgrs.

But I can't find it... Can anybody help?

Check under radiator passenger side in case car has been modified to a PRT set-up, if it has it will look like the diagram here (http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=10643)

Next time use axle stands!!:D

Good luck, I'm sure by now you have found the thermostat!

Unless of course, it's a PRT;):} in which case, buff coloured plastic housing in the bottom hose under the radiator:}

N/A I think it said.
Should be at the back of the block in that case.?

It is possible/likely it has been removed completely by somebody in connection with overheat.

I did find it eventually, but mat supplied me with the wrong one. Mine 8s black and has I totally different shape then the yellow one I got from mat.

Also don't think this can be done without removing the inlet manifold?

I can't thank you all (forum won't allow me to haha), but you are all thanked for your quick replies.

It turns out that my thermostat is indeed at the back underneath the inlet manifold.

No way I can change that without taking the manifold off I think. And I got the wrong part from Mat anyway, so It'll have to wait for another time.

Just to clarify, we supplied the one ordered - but we'll happily sort it and swap for an insert for the black housing if you like. :)
You can change it without removing the manifold, but it's a bit fiddly. I did it from above in about an hour.

I didn't even know there where 2, and since your kit on the website says it is suitable for the 75 1.8 I kinda assumed it was the one I needed.
But no worries, replacing it was more a matter of precaution and not yet really needed. So I still love you Mat ;) :D.

How do you suggest we do this now? Do I sent it back to you? Can you PM me how things work and if what about possible costs?
Any idea if anybody has made a how-to? Can;t find it on this forum.
