61st MGRSE meet at The Halfway House will be held on Sunday 18th October.Noon till late

Welcome to MG-ROVER-South East,we have been doing this event for around 5 years and have steadily built it into the biggest regular MG-Rover South East meet, there have been some changes of venue along the way, but at Brentwood it has worked best and continues to be the regular meet venue.

We meet up around the 3rd Sunday of the Month, but sometimes due to other popular events this is changed by a week either side. The Halfway House in Brentwood, has easy access from the M25/A127 to Southend, it has a large car park of which we use the back near the play area, serves meals and drinks and has all the facilities we could use. Also on site is a Little Chef restaurant and a Travelodge Hotel.

ABOUT THE MEET
We arrive as the designated time which is about Noon so that we can make a day of it and avoid the dark nights that we get in the winter months.
After looking at Members Cars we take a few pics and weather permitting we stay outside to greet anyone who has yet to arrive, were not hard to find as we all park together in the Venue Car Park.

The Administrators of the MGRSE are Alan Hodgson - Lauren Hawthorne and Danny Fox.

These Meets are Family Friendly and we welcome anyone to participate.

There are a good handful of us from all over the London, Kent and Essex areas but we gladly welcome more.

We have a few basic rules for the Meet, this is to make sure we Represent the club in a responsible manner

1. NO ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR
2. NO WHEEL SPINS
3. NO BURN-OUTS
4. NO DOUGHNUTS
5. NO DANGEROUS MANEUVERS (Handbrake turns etc)

ANY BREACH THESE RULES AND YOU WILL EJECTED FROM THE MEET AND BANNED FROM FUTURE MEETS

Last minute addition but I'll be there, unfortunately not in my 75, sorry to disappoint Moonstone fans, especially those who've travelled down from oop North hoping to see my Moonstone Connie but sadly, she's not well.
I'll be in a Granada which I'll park discretely to avoid all round embarrassment.

Just turned up at the halfway house there isn't a single rover here. Did this meet get cancelled/moved?

Me too. Thought I was in a time warp. :D
Had to check the time, date, stellar time, moss on the trees.

It wasn't us. Something happened. Must of moved on because of the antiques fair. Where though? I looked around at nearby pubs and did not see any "riot of rovers" or "maelstrom of MG's". :D

Saw your Gold 75 in the car park. I was in my XPG '05 ZT.

Sorry, just thought it was another pub frequenter. If I had known we could have had a mini meet. :D

lol. turned out it moved to the Road House diner just past the Wickford turnoff on the 127 - you can still head up there as of time of writing I believe people will still be there. Sorry I couldn't post this before

The meet was moved at the last moment as it clashed with the Antique fair. Not enough room to park everyone. Alan stayed at the HH till 1pm in case anyone turned up looking for the meet. I led the 2nd convoy down to the diner.

46 cars finally made it to the Road House Diner on the A127. Large car park and great food. Nice to see a very nice V8 MGB with the Sebring Arches.

Photo's to follow.

Apologies to anyone that missed us yesterday, the antiques fair was not realised till late Thursday night, not giving us time to move the event and not knowing it would cause so much chaos in the car park,we did phone the HH and they said it would only affect just the top of the parking spaces and there would be plenty of room,as said I waited till 1pm for anyone that might not have made the start time,it was impossible to stay with around 40 cars and a jammed car park,so we moved 4 miles down the road to the Roadhouse,as we understand the antiques fair is now a regular thing,so we shall monitor and alternate between venues in the future, especially as the Roadhouse proved popular with members, again apologies for any wasted journeys. Many thanks to those that came,it was a lovely October day and the weather was on our side for once and we had a good few long distance travellers, something that is always appreciated.

Some pics :)

Turn out looks good - and the weather held out as well, always a bonus

Shame SWMBO did not stamp my play permit - instead got lumbered with DIY tasks..

I'll be there next time (I promise :})
