I am planning a mini meet around the end of September, start of October at the Haywain pub in Little. Bromley Essex,between Harwich and Colchester.
Disclaimer Please note that this is not an official 75/ZT owners club meet,is not covered by the club public liability insurance,and the club accepts no responsibility for this meet.

Plan is to meet at the pub 7-7.30 for a meal,beers and a natter, those travelling from out of the area,such as myself,and anyone else whowants to come along can stay over in one of the Travelodges in nearby Ipswich around 15 minutes away,or Clacton which is also nearby. Next morning meet up for breakfast followed by a photo shoot somewhere local( viewpoint or equivalent), then head for home around late morning.
Having spoken with a couple of the Essex members who attended the North South get together last weekend, they are on for it.
I intend for this to become an annual event known as the North South get together,alternating each year between Essex and Newcastle.
So if anyone fancies it please express your interest

Apparently the venue may need to change,due to unforeseen circumstances.
Don't know and can't say any more until I speak with Jeff tomorrow, the meet will still take place, but possibly at a different place.:shrug:

Having spoken with Jeff behind the scenes, I can confirm that we will NOT be dining at the Haywain, apparently the current owners have decided to sell up,and the contacts will be exchanged early next month. The new owners will not be re opening straight away,maps the pub will be undergoing some refurbishment.

We will still be having the meet though, just at a different pub, Jeff is working on it as I type, new venue will be revealed soon:drool4:

Sadly the Landladys (Dawn) Dad Ernie died a couple of months back who also used to work at the Haywain and she and her Husband Andy have decided that they don't want to continue as the place holds too many memories.

I knew they were thinking of selling but didn't know until the other night that a sale had been agreed and is due to complete on the 3rd of October.
The people who are taking on the pub are going to close it for a couple of weeks for refurbishment !

Anyhow, it looks likely we will be finding an alternative place for the meal on the Saturday night .
I will stick to a pub type venue and keep it in easy distance for those staying in Clacton .

I have a few places that are very good in mind and I'll let you know soon and get it all arranged between Richard and myself :}

His arthritis is bad,and he is struggling to get in and out of bed, I am getting the doc to him tomorrow,so hopefully he will have some stronger pain relief, and I will be able to come.

Back home for 5 pm,after leaving Clacton at 11.15 this morning, stopped for a quick cuppa at Wetherby on the way home, great seeing some familiar faces again, and meeting some new. Will post up the few pics I took tomorrow, catch you all later.

You too Martin,and Sharon , was a very enjoyable weekend, going to see f we can fly down next year, save us the long drive. Did 636 miles and car returned a very healthy 49 mph.:D. 5 &1/4 hours driving in total.

It was nice meeting up with every one, we left Clacton 11:45 arrived home 14:20. Some fantastic pictures you took there Jeff :D :bowdown:

Lucky you, we left 11.15, arrived home 5pm for me, Graham left just after 5 and got home around 8. Looking at doing a fly and drive next time, fly Newcastle to Norwich,Southend or London city and hire a car drive the last hour or so, depends on flight times and prices , train is far too expensive at £155 return,each and 5&3/4 hours travelling.

Just a wee message to say how much i enjoyed my weekend down in Clacton on Sea and was great to meet you all.

Clacton looks a lovely seaside town (well the area i saw) with a lovely seafront and the Toby was superb, if i lived down there i would be in there everyday.

It's not a bad place to live really Graham, although I have to say I had a great time up in Scotland twice this year as well:}
