My rear NS door handle no longer works from the outside, the central locking and internal handle work fine, can't see much with the door card off, I removed the chrome button trim and the handle came off, I was advised a clip of some sorts is broken and I needed a new back plate, could you chaps kindly advise ?

Is there a DIY fix as the MOT is on Monday ?

What is the procedure for removal and refit ?

Any help would be most apreciated.

If your door is operating with the inside handle and not the outside one, it is more than likely that the rod has slipped in the white clip.

This one has slipped. ;)
A bit of trial and error, but if you have between 3 - 6 threads protruding, that should fix it.

Same happened to my current ZT-T - put it back in place, and now seems to have slipped again. Currently contemplating the next solution, possibly change the lot for 2nd hand parts from the 'yard. :)

Stick some brown tape on it, if that can keep a boost hose going for another 5k it can fix a flippin' door handle lol.

Wrap a tie wrap on the plasic clip. Could it be the 'dog bone' because that's another story. Stocktakes pic.............

The door is still bust but now won't open from the inside or outside, the door card is still off and I can get it open and after that it works fine from the inside and outside but once the car has been locked then unlocked it wont work until the the arm the plastic white clip and threaded rod are attached to is pushed up and you here a click.

Wondering if the rod needs further adjustment or theres an additional problem ?

For the MOT I unplugged the module plug so it would work lol.
