Just had a thought while driving today. I know that there is a little display saying what gear you have selected (4 D R etc).

Would it be possible to get the car to show what actual gear you are in? :shrug:

Had a Suzuki GT750 motorbike - back in the 80's - that did display the gear you was in, but it used a rather crude rotary switch on the gear change pedal.

Our Ssangyong Rexton does this - it has "D" for Drive, and then the gear you're in next to it. Switch to manual override and the D is replaced with the gear number....
