Is it just me or do others really want to get hold of the people that write these ads and give them a good shake.

" These ESTATES are so rare to find with less than 150,000 miles on"

"Rare Beige Leather" It's not Beige it's Sandstone !!!!

"Rear parking sensors not working correctly--- may be due to towbar"

Your asking nearly £3K for this car...get them sorted !!

This mornings rant over :icon_rolleyes:

Its like they have a generic sales script that could apply to almost any car.
People buy on emotion so if they "talk it up" then someone will get exited about it and buy it.
The facts concerning the cars individuality don't matter.:Snow:

What I find really shocking is this company states they are an MG/ROVER SPECIALIST.

Swallows Rest was one of the dealers I was looking seriously at whilst on my 75 hunt - sort of pleased that the right car did not turn up from them now.

You would have thought that they would have fixed such a small fault as part of their "pre-sales" preparation?

They just have no idea have they

They set themselves up as MGR 'specialists' and do get some attractive looking cars in from time to time, but for what they charge there should never be anything not working.

'Rare' seems to be a word they are fond of and seems to add a grand or two to the price.

I bought my saloon from him, it wasn't in the best of health, and was much more expensive than it should have been.
But I only discovered the truth when I joined on here.
I ran it for a while until an injector finally gave up and then went to Terry Shaw who sorted it's faults for me.
I wouldn't go to Swallows Rest again!

It's easily done to pay more than they're worth if you've not been on here first, and when you do come on here it's scary how cheap some are for sale on here.
I just had a look on eBay and Autotrader to get an idea of prices before buying mine, but couldn't really judge it as there's such a huge range of prices for virtually the same cars.
Then again, it's like anything, it's what you think it's worth I guess.
Glad to hear you got yours all sorted though. :Snow:

I've seen more than one 1.8 advertised as having a BMW engine. Some of it is genuine lack of knowledge on behalf of the seller, but some is certainly deliberate "embellishment".

It MUST be a BMW engine because it says BMW on one of the connectors .... :xmas-smiley-008:
