Hi all

What does the original exhaust on the diesels look like?
I've searched the internet and although I didn't find any pictures I found out that the originals are a single pipe and have an additional silencer at the front, right after the cat.

When I looked at mine the other day the cat, front silencer and back box look original, but there's a join in the pipe, no clamp though. The front pipe sits in the rear one and the ODs are circa 57 and 60 mm respectively.

Is this how it left the factory or has someone changed any part of the exhaust at some point?

I was thinking about fitting a stainless decat pipe from Every Exhaust Part: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111250653260
The end of this pipe has been made 57 mm ID and should slide over the original pipe. But I don't know about the lengths. If the joint will be where I have the 57 mm OD, it would be perfect.

Has anyone fitted this pipe from everyexhaustpart and can advise?

Regards
Andre

Andre

I've just fitted that pipe to my 04 Cdti Tourer, the problem I had when fitting was that the rear section was also at 57mm to slide OVER the front section.

Remedied by cutting off the last 15 cms of the original front section and the flared section of the SS exhaust. the piece of the original front section then slides in nice and tight into the 2 1/2 inch SS system, then welded.
