Hi all, I have a quick question about the fuel gauges on our cars. The gauge on my CDTi wags around like an excited puppies tail! Just going around corners can cause it to vary an 8th of a tank. It's not really a problem, but is this normal for these?

Cheers

I have never noticed mine going up and down around corners, it has happened in other cars I have had though as the fuel sloshed around when getting low. However, the gauge is not directly connected to the tank floats, rather works out using fuel economy as well as remaining fuel. Drive economically, and the gauge can actually rise.

Personally I use the IPK fuel remain to give a better indication. Which can also rise, sometimes considerably, if driven economically.
