toaf can not find my SRS module !
is this normal for toaf or is it my srs module ? where abouts is it ?

thanks

Why not do the simple fix, and check the wiring under the seat, failing this have you had any water leaking in the car, if so check the modules under the front seat carpets, if they have sat in water they tend to fail.

i have tried and checked all the wiring, can't get the light to go off.

Pete, one of the limitations of toaf is the inability to communicate with the autoliv SRS DCU, or later MEMS units.

This won't help in the interim, however why not have a word with Phil-T4, he can certainly supply something that will talk to your 75, and if you ask nicely, your other MGR cars too ;)

thanks Brian, are you talking about VT4 ?

thanks Brian, are you talking about VT4 ?

Yes, I am Pete, Phil has a new version that will cover all MGR models ;)

Toaf is fine if you have an early diesel car, or V6, but not so good if you have a post 2003 car, an 1800, or any hardwired fusebox car with the later SRS DCU.

I was in contact with Phil about buying his VT4 (he mentioned it 2 years ago when he did my 160 upgrade) I was about to buy it when TOAF came out.
I still can't decide, I don't have £150 at the moment.

The new version of toaf already can read the SRS, but not on all cars...
If it read you will see something like on picture:duh:

It doesn't connect when i go to SRS, it can't find the module.

I took the seat out and replaced the 2 yellow connectors with water tight ones i got from ebay and the SRS light goes out now.

Pete.

Have you joined pins 7 & 8 together in your OBD lead? If not, several modules won't show up in TOAF.

Yes pins soldered. Brian says its normal on a later model car. Mine is 2005.

Cars with Temic SRS can be read, just not autoliv ;)

If you are in any doubt abut which type of module is fitted to your car a quick and simple check for you.........if your car has the larger fuses in the passenger compartment than your car is equipped with Temic MRS2, if on the other hand your car has the microblade fuses it will have Autoliv SRS fitted ;)

It has the smaller fuses.
