drive shaft short are they different between manual and auto

Hi can anyone tell me if the drive shaft for the near side left hand side on a 2004 diesel cdti 2ltr for a manual car, will it fit an auto ?,I bought a brand new rover one as a spare, but now iv sold the manual regards john

I'd assume if they use the same shaft, they'd have the same part number (??). If so, it should be possible to verify using the Rimmer listings.
